What Slows Euro Business Down

Clients expect EUR

European counterparties ask for euro details and pay by SEPA. Without them, every invoice becomes a negotiation about how the money will actually arrive.

Conversions eat margin

Euros converted on arrival and converted back to pay a euro invoice cost two spreads on money that never needed to change currency.

Commingled accounts

One account collecting every currency makes reconciliation harder than it needs to be, because attribution is deferred to the end of the month.

What a EUR Business Account Is

A EUR business account is a company account holding a balance denominated in euros, with EUR IBAN details attached to it. Euros received stay as euros; euro invoices are paid from them.

Two layers sit behind that. The euro balance holds the funds and is what payments are made from. The EUR IBAN account carries the details third parties use to pay in — receiving from a client or a platform always runs through the IBAN side. Payments travel SEPA inside the SEPA area, SEPA Instant as a scheme within it where available, SWIFT from further afield, and internally between Fenryx accounts.

How It Works at Fenryx

The euro balance sits inside a multi-currency account rather than standing alone, so euros are one of the currencies the company holds beside the others it earns and pays in. Moving between them is a conversion whose cost you see before confirming, not something applied at the edge of the system.

EUR IBAN accounts handle the receiving side. Payments out travel SEPA, SEPA Instant where available, SWIFT or internally. Every payment carries a status on the platform and reaches an export that keeps its reference. The account opens online through KYB review, and the currencies available on it are agreed for your account rather than published as a fixed list.

What the Account Includes

Apply online, documents sent remotely. Every account opens through KYB review.

EUR IBAN accounts

Details to receive from third parties over SEPA, SEPA Instant where available, or SWIFT. See IBAN account.

Multi-currency balances

Euros held beside the other currencies you work in. See currency accounts.

SEPA, SWIFT and internal transfers

Payments out over the rail that fits the destination, beneficiaries saved for next time.

Statuses and reporting

Each payment holds a status; periods export with detail and references intact.

Who Holds Euros

Selling into Europe from outside it

Clients pay by SEPA into EUR IBAN details, and the euros stay euros until the company decides otherwise.

Paying EU contractors in EUR

Contractors invoice in euros and are paid from the euro balance, so the payment does not open with a conversion.

Marketplace sellers collecting EUR

Platform settlements land in euros on details of the seller's own rather than arriving converted.

Finance teams separating flows

Euro flows kept on their own account for cleaner reconciliation. See international business accounts.

  • Which rails are actually run, and where SEPA Instant applies

Who Can Hold a Euro Balance

Registered legal entities only; we do not open personal accounts. A company does not need to be registered in the EU to hold euros — the balance is about the currency, not the jurisdiction.

What it does depend on is business type, jurisdiction and the outcome of KYB review, and screening continues for the life of the account. No account or currency is guaranteed beforehand.

Who we cannot onboard

  • Anonymous accounts and exchange services
  • Anything built to obscure where funds came from
  • Goods and services whose circulation is restricted
  • Organisations with no commercial purpose
  • Persons and structures subject to sanctions

EUR Account Questions

What is a EUR business account?

A business account holding a balance denominated in euros, with EUR IBAN details clients can pay into. Euros received stay as euros and euro invoices are paid from them.

Can a business open a euro account online?

The application is online and documents are sent remotely. Every account opens through KYB review, so it goes live once that review is complete rather than on a timetable we could promise in advance.

Does a EUR account include an IBAN?

Yes. EUR IBAN accounts are how third parties pay you — the details are yours to publish, and funds land on the euro balance behind them. See IBAN accounts.

Can I receive SEPA payments?

Yes, on an IBAN account. SEPA carries euro payments inside the SEPA area; SEPA Instant is a scheme within it and applies where available; SWIFT covers payments arriving from further afield. Which rails apply to your account is confirmed at onboarding.

What fees should I compare?

The account fee, per-transaction fees by rail, how conversion cost is shown relative to the rate, and whether payment details of your own are included. Figures are quoted per account, because they follow the currencies and volumes a business works with. For dollar flows, see the USD business account.
